Women of Purpose

Ministry of the Women of Christ Presbyterian Church

We seek to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), equip the saints for the ministry of building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12) and join in relationships with each other where mature women can disciple and mentor younger women as they grow in their sanctification (Titus 2:3-5).

Hebrews:

Standing Firm in Christ

“Studying the Bible will change your life.”So begins the introduction to our study guide, and such is our hope for all who join us to study the book of Hebrews.

“Hebrews is a glorious exposition of the Old Testament Scriptures–one that makes manifest the absolute superiority of Jesus Christ above all and exhorts us to follow in the footsteps of all who have put their faith in him in the past” (Dr. Richard Phillips, author of our study). Our aim as we study Hebrews will be to understand its message and how to apply its truths to our daily lives. By studying together, we hope to fulfill our goal of making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), equipping the saints (Ephesians 4:12) and joining in relationships with each other (Titus 2:3-5).

It is my prayer that as we study together, we will learn together to “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful, and . . . consider how to stir up one another to love and good works “(Heb. 10:23-24).

Acts of the Apostles

Witness to the World

In keeping with our spring study focus, and our Sunday School study of the church, in the fall we will study Acts of the Apostles. Here is a little preview of the study:

We will work through the book of Acts together each week and study the great history of the beginnings and expansion of the church. There are no other written resources for members other than the bible and class helps that will be distributed each week.

Purpose

  • To understand the biblical doctrine of the person and work of the Holy Spirit in and through His people
  • To study the major themes in Acts
  • To study the Apostles, in particularly Peter and Paul and their ministries, and to trace their travels as they plant the early churches
  • To see the church as God’s sovereign plan

Homework will be minimal and optional.
